Yakushima, in the rain Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Positioned within the Beginner repertoire (novice keyboard curriculum (Alfred Level 1 / Bastien Primer)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on finding middle C quickly and coordinating simple two-hand question-and-answer melodies. Navigating flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Study Routine: clap the rhythm before playing to guarantee steady timekeeping without hesitation.

Tonal grounding is defined by C Major, marked in the score by zero sharps and zero flats. The music alternates stability on C with expressive harmonic excursions toward A Minor and its parallel relation, C Minor. Harmonically, the progression C → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 suspends tension over an active dominant chord awaiting tonal release. For the performer, this layout is characterized by an all-natural keyboard surface requiring firm curved finger knuckles to prevent sliding on ivory white naturals.

Created by 鏡, the composition Yakushima, in the rain demonstrates notable craftsmanship within the modern pop keyboard selections. Metric propulsion relies on 3/4 (simple triple meter), giving the piece a graceful waltz-like momentum that unfolds across three distinct quarter-note measures. Set to a metronome speed of ♩ = 65 BPM (*Andante maestoso*), the overall character feels unhurried with noble cantabile phrasing. Pianists should ensure that they let beats two and three float effortlessly above the grounded bass root.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for informal recitals, private studio practice, and collaborative accompaniment.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: Adapting the original C Major setting is straightforward: lower tessituras find comfort in B-flat Major, whereas soprano instruments or solo flutes achieve singing resonance in D Major.
