Vals 3 Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by a balanced metric groundwork providing grounded stability with primary weight on beat one and secondary stress on beat three. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 81 BPM (*Andante*), yielding a flowing at a graceful walking pace tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Cast in G Major (a single sharp (F♯)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around G. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of E Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from C Major. Harmonically, the progression G → Am → F → Dm → G7 rests on a half-cadential dominant harmony that builds musical anticipation. For the performer, this layout is characterized by a resonant acoustic register with F♯ serving as a natural tactile guidepost for the right hand.

Created by killian woods, the composition Vals 3 demonstrates notable craftsmanship within the popular pop sheet music repertoire. Encompassing 73 measures over 4 engraved pages, the work is collated from accurate modern sheet transcriptions. Authority databases register this work as `mbid-36e7195b-pianistforum` and ISWC `T-36E.719.5B-1`.

Assigned an overall Intermediate rating (transitional keyboard syllabus (ABRSM Grade 4 to Trinity Grade 5)), the composition exercises manual independence. The central obstacle centers on achieving fluid finger legato without relying on the damper pedal to mask uneven key releases. In performing contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points, keep finger knuckles rounded and poised. For acoustic hygiene, refresh damper pedal depth synchronously with bass root changes. Practice Tip: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.

When programming this selection, music educators frequently schedule Vals 3 for informal recitals, private studio practice, and collaborative accompaniment. While engraved in G Major, the work accommodates vocal adjustments readily: modulating down into F Major eases strain for baritones, whereas moving upward to A Major highlights brilliance in soprano or tenor solos.
