Time Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Created by Thijs van Hamersveld, the composition Time demonstrates notable craftsmanship within the contemporary pop piano repertory. Encompassing 66 measures over 3 engraved pages, the work is collated from accurate modern sheet transcriptions. Authority databases register this work as `mbid-86c328f2-pianistforum` and ISWC `T-86C.328.F2-1`.

Organized under a 3/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple triple meter with 3 beats per measure. At ♩ = 77 BPM (Moderato cantabile), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as poised with natural rhythmic breathing. A core performance guideline: let beats two and three float effortlessly above the grounded bass root.

Tonal grounding is defined by C Major, marked in the score by zero sharps and zero flats. The music alternates stability on C with expressive harmonic excursions toward A Minor and its parallel relation, C Minor. Harmonically, the progression C → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 rests on a half-cadential dominant harmony that builds musical anticipation. Under the fingers, C Major features a white-key keyboard terrain where maintaining firm knuckle support prevents flat-finger fatigue.

Pedagogically suited for Intermediate students (intermediate benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 4–6)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. In sections with broken arpeggio figures and modern pulse chords, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Practice Tip: practice left-hand harmonic leaps with closed eyes to develop spatial keyboard instinct.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: To accommodate diverse vocal registers, accompanists can transpose the C Major score: baritones rest easily in B-flat Major, while lyric tenors and high soloists project effortlessly in D Major.
