Tarina Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Rhythmic momentum flows through a 4/4 metric framework (simple quadruple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 117 BPM (*Allegretto*), the piece moves with a moderately brisk, bright, and buoyant pulse. As a practical study rule, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Originating within the modern pop keyboard selections, Tarina by Nick Hoad exemplifies structural economy and melodic clarity. Spanning 6 pages and 115 measures, its source material derives from standard contemporary studio engravings. Catalog registries document the score under identifier `mbid-a16d0839-pianistforum` with ISWC `T-A16.D08.39-1`.

Targeted at Advanced players (advanced concert artist standard (ABRSM Diploma / ARCT syllabus)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on mastering nuanced rubato, synchronizing rapid arpeggiated passage work, and maintaining tonal polish under speed. Accompaniment passages containing cinematic rolling bass sweeps and sustained chord foundations require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Practice Tip: block intricate passage work into chord clusters to cement muscle memory before speeding up.

Anchored in C Minor, this work utilizes a key signature of three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭, with B♮ raised leading tone). The composer builds structural coherence around C, deploying the relative pole (E-flat Major) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through G Major. Harmonically, the progression Cm → Dm → G → C → F → E7 navigates expressive chord variations (F, E7) returning home cleanly. Pianistically, the key produces a brooding, powerful minor space that rewards strong fourth and fifth finger voicing in the melody.

Pianists frequently schedule this piece for popular piano showcases, private lessons, and collaborative sessions. Beyond the primary engraving in C Minor, collaborative accompanists can adapt the key: lower voices (alto/bass) benefit from transposing into B-flat Minor, while high voices gain projection in D Minor. Ensembles may utilize G Minor for brass fingerings. This publication provides an authorized instructional text under `unknown` guidelines for private piano study.
