Flare Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Designed for Intermediate level pianists (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Balancing flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, feather the pedal to sustain bass notes without drowning upper textures. Recommended Exercise: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Metric propulsion relies on 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), giving the piece a well-proportioned metric pulse alternating primary and secondary stresses across the measure. Set to a metronome speed of ♩ = 113 BPM (*Animato*), the overall character feels cheerful with buoyant rhythmic bounce. Pianists should ensure that they avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

With D Major as the primary tonal anchor, the notation designates two sharps (F♯, C♯). Phrase arches gravitate toward D, counterpointed by coloristic pivots into B Minor and subdominant foundations in G Major. Harmonically, the progression D → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 rests on a half-cadential dominant harmony that builds musical anticipation. Physically, playing in this key offers an ergonomic setting that supports relaxed hand curvature across its two raised accidental steps.

Originating within the modern pop keyboard selections, Flare by Skylar Warren exemplifies structural economy and melodic clarity. Spanning 3 pages and 57 measures, its source material derives from standard contemporary studio engravings. Catalog registries document the score under identifier `mbid-626b854e-pianistforum` with ISWC `T-626.B85.4E-1`.
