Attention Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Rooted in the contemporary pop piano repertory, Attention stands as a representative work by Charlie Puth. The publication presents 5 pages totaling 102 notation measures, cross-checked against standard contemporary studio engravings. Digital music repositories index this composition under ISWC `T-6DD.A14.25-1`. Archival notes observe: Released in 2017 as the lead single from Charlie Puth's album "Voicenotes," "Attention" marked a more mature artistic direction for the singer-songwriter. Its distinctive bass line.

The temporal design is written in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), establishing a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. The indicated tempo mark of ♩ = 100 BPM (*Andantino*) suggests an atmosphere that is moderately flowing with clear articulation. Interpretively, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Anchored in E Minor, this work utilizes a key signature of one sharp (F♯, with D♯ harmonic inflection). The composer builds structural coherence around E, deploying the relative pole (G Major) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through B Major. Voice leading proceeds primarily through diatonic harmonic motion involving tonic, subdominant, and dominant degrees. Pianistically, the key produces a somber keyboard realm where navigating between D♯ and the tonic E requires attentive finger placement.

Graded at the Intermediate level (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), the score fosters disciplined keyboard ergonomics. The primary technical hurdle involves managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. When negotiating flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks, ensure the singing melody stays dynamically elevated over the accompaniment. Acoustically, refresh damper pedal depth synchronously with bass root changes. Preparatory Exercise: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending. Score pointer: Focus on the signature bass groove first, keeping the left hand steady and slightly detached. Bring out the melody above the accompaniment with controlled dynam.
